Float valve

Designed for applications in wells with high velocity flow and large fluid volumes under extended periods of time. We manufacture two type of valves: regular back pressure float valves and auto-fill float valves. Auto-fill valve allows mud influx into the casing which eliminates the need to fill up the casing during run in. Upon special request double valve configuration can be installed for additional assurance of positive pressure inside the casing. All body parts of our valves are PDC-drillable.
Technical properties
  • Machined profiled orifices are designed to form optimal flow paths.
  • Precise length of orifice stabilizes inflow of fluid.
  • Sealing is applied upon large area of surface.
  • Plunger nose geometry diverts fluid from critical elements for added protection from erosion of sealing elements.
  • During circulation spring drops into isolated retainer cup sleeve, which firmly holds the spring and prevents the spring from snapping out during high circulation rates.
  • Designed to reduce material erosion and spring fatigue.
  • Plunger rod is made from high endurance composite material with low coefficient of friction.
  • Valve spring is made from PDC drillable non-ferrous bronze alloy and has a high coefficient of stiffness.
  • Cross-section of rod plunger’s seat has a special geometry which helps eliminate contamination and chance of stalling (by cuttings or debris).
  • Design of valve has two primary versions and can operate at pressures 350 atm (5000PSI) and up to 700 atm (10000 PSI) respectively.
  • Valve is commonly installed inside the shell with a hardening concrete formula but it also has a screw in option.
Shoes
Shoes and couplings are usually used in the lower interval of the well and provide a reduction in the load on the mast when running the casing through zones with ledges and collapses in the wellbore, as well as landing sites for the lower and upper cementing plug. The back pressure valve prevents fluid from flowing into the casing when the pipe is lowered into the well and prevents cement entry back into the casing after injection, while allowing circulation through the casing.
